I have just added a new page section on Churches so that I can feature churches, both in the UK and worldwide, which depict rosette motifs. I have started this collection with a visit to Bath Abbey in Bath, UK, and will add many more over the coming months.
I’ve just added a new page with a whistle-stop tour of the city of Zagreb and, in particular, its Cathedral and Archaeology Museum. You can find it on the menu under ‘Journeys’.
I’ve just opened a session on my Academia.edu page to invite your comments on my latest case study – An Examination and Analysis of the Use of the Rosette Motif on Depictions of Breasts in the Ancient Egyptian Iconographic Repertoire
You can join the session and leave feedback on the paper at https://www.academia.edu/s/3cf3c67790
A synopsis of the paper I gave at the VIIth European Conference of Egyptologists this week in Zagreb is now on my Academia page. It is titled ‘Examination and Analysis of the Role of the Iconographic Rosette Motif in the Ancient Egyptian Artistic Repertoire: A Case Study’.
You can find it at https://lamp.academia.edu/CherylHart
Tomorrow night I’m heading off to Zagreb to present a paper on some of my research at CECE7 – VIIth European Conference of Egyptologists. Although I’ve visited Croatia before I’ve never been to Zagreb – it looks a fascinating city though so hopefully I’ll have some time to explore. The conference allows two hours for lunch so that will give me a chance to look around the city. There are also several museums which are worth visiting too, so hopefully I find many more rosettes to share with you soon.
I’ve just added ‘Travels round Cyprus Part 2’ – you can find the page on the menu under Journeys. This completes my current search for the rosette motif in Cyprus – I hope you’ve enjoyed the experience. If you want to see more artefacts from the island bearing rosette motifs, you can find a further collection of images on my Facebook ‘The Rosette Lady’ page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Rosette-Lady/757705117678393?ref=aymt_homepage_panel
You can find a new page ‘Travels round Cyprus: Part 1’ under my Journeys on the menu. I’ve started this journey in North Cyprus, visiting Kyrenia Castle and then travelling back to North Nicosia to visit a Medieval Lapidary Museum. Start the journey here with me and keep watching for ‘Travels round Cyprus: Part 2’ to be posted shortly.
